Our Club Code of Conduct
At Literary in Bloom, we honor every unique perspective and story shared. Use these standards to maintain a warm and helpful atmosphere that respects all members and keeps our discussions kind.
Club Rules & Conduct
• To maintain active membership, you must attend at least one book club meeting every quarter.
• Book nominations MUST be available in all formats (paperback, Ebook, and audiobook) so all members can enjoy them in every format. (If a book is not readily available in a certain format, the majority decides if the book can stay).
• Selected books must be under 450 pages to ensure everyone has a realistic chance of finishing
• You must RSVP to attend ANY meeting or social event; update RSVP status in a timely manner.
• RSVP deadline: At least 4 days before the meeting so space, supplies, and seating can be planned.
• If you RSVP 'Yes' and do not attend the meeting/event or notify the host 4 hours before the event start, you will be removed.
• NO extra guests allowed unless approved by the host.
• Members who miss 3 consecutive meetings without notifying the organizer will be removed.
• If a member needs to leave permanently, give a heads-up to allow new people to join.
• Zero tolerance for bullying of any sort.; Body shaming, homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and xenophobia will NOT be tolerated.
• Self-promotion, selling items, or soliciting services is prohibited unless approved by the organizer.
Enforcement Policy
- Initial violation of club rules will result in a friendly private reminder from the organizer to ensure everyone is on the same page.
- Repeated disregard for club standards or any instance of zero-tolerance behavior (bullying, racism, etc.) will result in immediate and permanent removal from the club.
- Failure to update RSVP status as per the 4-day deadline will lead to a review of membership status.
- Unapproved solicitation or self-promotion will result in the immediate removal of the post and a warning; a second instance will lead to removal from the group.
